Volleyball Recap: St. Mary's Comes Up Short

St. Mary was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Notre Dame Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.

St. Mary's was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-22, 25-14.

St. Mary's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Notre Dame, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.

St. Mary's will challenge Maplewood-Richmond Heights at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Dragons are facing the Blue Devils at the right time seeing as the Blue Devils are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Notre Dame, they will face off against Lutheran at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
