League recap: Holt dominating on the mound for Henderson

3A Region II District 16 league recap: 4/3/13

Jeffery Holt was the best pitcher in 3A Region II District 16 this week, leading Henderson. He won one game and retired 23 batters.

Collin Neal was the hottest hitter in the league this week, racking up a .467 average with four RBIs. The Lions went 1-1.

Spring Hill's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing six hits and four walks to lead the league in both categories.

Henderson struck out a league-leading 41 times over the past week. The Lions have struggled at the plate this season, leading the league with 150 strikeouts.

Four batters hit over .400 this week. Leading the pack was Matt Williams, who hit 1.000 by going 3-for-3.



The most RBI in the league this week belonged to Henderson's Holt, who drove in five. For the year, he has racked up 16 RBIs, good for first in the league.

Holt struck out nine in Kilgore's 3-2 win over the Lions on March 26. Over six innings of work, he gave up seven hits and three runs.
