After losing to Independence the last time they met, Copper Canyon decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Copper Canyon Aztecs took down the Independence Patriots 60-44 on Tuesday.

When it comes to explaining why Independence lost, don't look at James Davis. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 14 points and 14 boards. Davis has become a key player for Independence: the team is 7-2 when he posts at least ten rebounds, but 5-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Anthony Colonna, who posted 13 points and four steals.

Copper Canyon's record now sits at 12-9. As for Independence, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 12-8 record this season.

Copper Canyon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 64-54 win against Glendale on the 13th. As for Independence, they have also already played their next game, a 57-44 victory against Sierra Linda on the 13th.
