Basketball Game Preview: West Ranch Wildcats vs. San Marcos Royals

The West Ranch Wildcats will be taking part in a tournament against the San Marcos Royals at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. West Ranch has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with three straight losses, while San Marcos will come in with four straight wins.

Last Friday, West Ranch came up short against Valencia and fell 63-52. The matchup marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, San Marcos hadn't done well against Oxnard recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. San Marcos came out on top against Oxnard by a score of 68-60. That's two games straight that the Royals have won by exactly eight points.

San Marcos is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for West Ranch, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

West Ranch came up short against San Marcos when the teams last played back in February of 2018, falling 61-48. Can West Ranch avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
