For the second straight game, Stevenson will face off against Pacific Grove. The Pirates will take on the Breakers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Stevenson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

While Stevenson's win against Pacific Grove wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Pirates skirted past the Breakers 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Breakers: they've now won three in a row.

For Pacific Grove's part, Brody Edmonds spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. Edmonds has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ben Garry made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases. Tyler Stutzman also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Pacific Grove dropped their record down to 7-11 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.33 runs. As for Stevenson, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.
