Softball Game Preview: Lemon Bay Manta Rays vs. Port Charlotte Pirates

Lemon Bay has gone 8-2 against Port Charlotte recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Lemon Bay Manta Rays will look to defend their home field against the Port Charlotte Pirates at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Lemon Bay came up short against Venice on Thursday, falling 16-4.

Cassidy Silvia and Savannah Taylor stepped up to the plate in a big way. Silvia scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Taylor went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI. The dominant performance gave Taylor a new career-high in RBI.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 17 runs the game before, Port Charlotte was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They lost 17-1 to North Port.

Port Charlotte saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Juliana Parolisi, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Even though they lost, Port Charlotte hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Port struck out eight times.

Lemon Bay's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Port Charlotte, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Lemon Bay came out on top in a nail-biter against Port Charlotte in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, sneaking past 6-5. Will Lemon Bay repeat their success, or does Port Charlotte have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
