Softball Recap: Immanuel Gets the Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Immanuel walked away with it. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Golden Valley Bulldogs on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Ella Renney spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits.

At the plate, Immanuel's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ellyann Thomas, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple was Thomas' first of the season. Another was Camdyn Efird, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Immanuel kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 7-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Immanuel's victory bumped their record up to 13-10. As for Golden Valley, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 19-8-1 record.

Coming up, Immanuel will be playing in front of their home fans against South at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Golden Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
