Baseball Game Preview: Salem Sundevils vs. First Colonial Patriots

Salem hasn't had much luck against First Colonial recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Salem will host First Colonial at 4:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Salem fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Oscar Smith on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-1. The Sundevils' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Meanwhile, First Colonial came up short against Cox on Tuesday and fell 5-1. The loss put an end to the Patriots' undefeated start to the season.

Salem's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for First Colonial, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Salem might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from First Colonial in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can Salem avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
