Soccer Game Preview: Ogden vs. Manti

The Ogden Tigers will take on the Manti Templars at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Ogden sitting on 13 straight wins and Manti on five.

Ogden is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over Grantsville. Considering Ogden have won 11 contests by more than three goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting Grantsville from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Elle Weston led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Manti won against Richfield on Saturday with three goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Thursday. The Templars beat Carbon by a goal, winning 3-2.

Ogden's victory bumped their record up to 16-2. As for Manti, their win bumped their record up to 14-4.

Everything went Ogden's way against Manti in their previous matchup back in August, as Ogden made off with a 5-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
