Baseball Recap: Santa Rosa Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Santa Rosa hadn't done well against Montgomery recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Panthers narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Vikings 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted against the Vikings since April 27, 2018.

Will Philip was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Mason Rizo was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

The win (which was Santa Rosa's third in a row) raised their record to 8-11. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Montgomery, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.

Santa Rosa will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Vikings: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
