It's playoff time, and Alexandria had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the Etowah Blue Devils 8-1 on Wednesday. Considering the Valley Cubs have won 22 matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Alexandria is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 40-10-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Etowah, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 21-23.

Alexandria has already played their next game, a 12-7 victory against Madison County on the 7th. As for Etowah, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 4-0 win against Ashville on the 7th.
