Softball Game Preview: Carpinteria Warriors vs. Santa Paula Cardinals

Carpinteria is 0-10 against Santa Paula since April of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Carpinteria Warriors will face off against the Santa Paula Cardinals at 3:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Carpinteria came up short against Santa Barbara on Thursday, falling 22-6. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cecilia Lemus made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Savannah Cardenas, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Santa Paula was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Thousand Oaks.

Ayla Rodriguez was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.

Santa Paula's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Carpinteria, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Carpinteria came up short against Santa Paula in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 16-11. Can Carpinteria avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
