McCook proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 40) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 68-66 win over the Goodland Cowboys. For the Bison, this counts as revenge for the 64-59 victory the Cowboys walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2020.

McCook's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kooper Rakes, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brody Graham, who shot 86% from the field to rack up 15 points and five boards.

McCook smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

McCook's record now sits at 3-0. As for Goodland, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

McCook didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 77-50 loss against Life Prep on the 13th. As for Goodland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 65-62 victory against Ulysses on the 13th.
