Basketball Recap: Miller Comes Up Short

Miller lost against Flour Bluff back in December of 2016, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Miller Buccaneers took a hard 44-25 fall against the Flour Bluff Hornets. While losing is never fun, the Buccaneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 608th, while the Hornets are ranked 157th).

Despite the loss, Miller still got an impressive performance from Hailey Martinez, who posted 19 points and three steals. Martinez's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

This is the second loss in a row for Miller and nudges their season record down to 10-9. As for Flour Bluff, they moved to 8-4 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Miller will take on Gregory-Portland at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Flour Bluff will take on Alice in a holiday battle at 6:15 p.m. on December 17th at.
