Ambridge fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Neshannock on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lancers by a score of 16-15. On the bright side, the 15- run performance marked the Bridgers' highest-scoring match to date.

Jonathan Janicki stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 2-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Carter Mason, who went 2-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple.

Ambridge's loss dropped their record down to 3-2-1. As for Neshannock, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Ambridge wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 7-1 win against Hopewell on the 31st. As for Neshannock, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-7 victory against Laurel on the 31st.
