Basketball Game Preview: Atlantic Sharks vs. New Smyrna Beach Barracudas

The Atlantic Sharks will face off against the New Smyrna Beach Barracudas at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Atlantic took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They took down Seabreeze 47-33.

Meanwhile, New Smyrna Beach came tearing into Thursday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Green Wave 75-15. The Barracudas have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 21 points or more this season.

New Smyrna Beach has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Atlantic, their win bumped their record up to 7-10.

Atlantic was taken down by New Smyrna Beach 56-22 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Atlantic was down 31-7.
