Baseball Recap: Bishop Amat Victorious

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Bishop Amat ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the St. Paul Swordsmen. The win continues a trend for the Lancers in their matchups with the Swordsmen: they've now won seven in a row.

Bishop Amat got a great performance from Izaac Muniz as he struck out 11 batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Those 11 strikeouts gave Muniz a new career-high.

At the plate, Santiago Ramirez was excellent, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jacob Campos, who went 2-for-5 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Bishop Amat kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Paul only managed two hits.

Bishop Amat's victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for St. Paul, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-4.

Bishop Amat will have a chance to go back-to-back against St. Paul: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
