Basketball Recap: Madill Falls Despite Big Games from Ryan Anderson and Jagger Rogers

It was a proper cat-fight when Madill challenged Durant on Thursday. The Madill Wildcats took a 58-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Durant Lions. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

Madill's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jagger Rogers, who posted 18 points and seven rebounds, and Ryan Anderson, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds. Those seven boards gave Rogers a new career-high.

Madill's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Durant, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2.

Madill didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 56-53 defeat against Sulphur on the 6th. As for Durant, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 45-42 win against Hugo on the 6th.
