Softball Recap: Firebaugh Eagles vs. Farmersville Aztecs
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Firebaugh had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They skirted past the Farmersville Aztecs 13-11. The win was some much needed relief for Firebaugh as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Firebaugh got a massive performance out of Ja'Dyn Jenkins, who scored four runs and stole four bases while going 4-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Anabelle Alaniz, who scored two runs and stole five bases while going 2-for-3.
Firebaugh's victory bumped their record up to 11-16. As for Farmersville, their loss dropped their record down to 15-12.
Firebaugh will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Avenal at 4:30 p.m. Avenal will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Firebaugh surely won't give up without a fight. Farmersville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
