Basketball Game Preview: Curlew Cougars vs. Inchelium Hornets

The Curlew Cougars and the Inchelium Hornets will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. The timing isn't great for Curlew: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Inchelium has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.

On Friday, Curlew took a blow against Northport, falling 92-47. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 357th, while the Mustangs are ranked 134th).

Meanwhile, Inchelium made easy work of Republic on Friday and carried off a 76-53 victory. The Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Inchelium is also on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.7 points per game. As for Curlew, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.

Curlew was taken down by Inchelium 84-32 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Curlew was down 38-17.
