Baseball Recap: Barrington Comes Up Short

Barrington fell victim to Prospect and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (3-0), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. Fillies/Broncos fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Knights since on Thursday.

Jack Postma spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

Barrington's defeat dropped their record down to 20-10-1. As for Prospect, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-10-1 record this season.

Barrington will square off against Glenbrook North at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Prospect, they will face off against DePaul College Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
