Basketball Recap: Bishop Rosecrans Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Bishop Rosecrans fought the good fight in their overtime game against Catholic Central on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 58-51 to the Catholic Central Crusaders. That makes it the first time this season the Bishops have let down their home crowd.

Bishop Rosecrans lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Tyler Bernett, who posted 12 points in addition to eight boards and five blocks. Bernett has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 11 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Brody Boothe, who had 18 points.

Bishop Rosecrans' loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-4. As for Catholic Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-3.

Bishop Rosecrans is taking a road trip to take on Miller at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Catholic Central has already played their next match (against Edison), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
