Recap: West Las Vegas Dons vs. Sandia Prep Sundevils

The West Las Vegas Dons had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They strolled past Sandia Prep with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 63-48. That result was just more of the same for these two, as West Las Vegas also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.

West Las Vegas' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from P.j. Montano, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds. Montano continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Devaughn Kensey, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.

West Las Vegas pushed their record up to 12-4 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Sandia Prep, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-15.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Las Vegas will square off against Raton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Sandia Prep, they will head out on the road to challenge East Mountain at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. East Mountain comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
