Baseball Recap: Derby Comes Up Short

Derby lost to Torrington back in April of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Red Raiders came up short against the Raiders, falling 11-1. The Red Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Derby saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaac McNeill, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. McNeill has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Derby's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Torrington, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Derby will square off against rival Waterbury Career Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Torrington is set to challenge their familiar foe Holy Cross at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
