Volleyball Recap: St. Monica Takes a Loss

St. Monica lost against St. Anthony back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mariners took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Saints.

St. Monica was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made St. Anthony work for it, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 28-26, 25-19, 20-25, 25-18.

Garrett Robertson paced St. Monica's offense, picking up 20 kills. Robertson got some help from Sam Zimmermann and his 44 assists. Nicolai Marinho controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

St. Monica's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9-2. As for St. Anthony, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 15-3.

St. Monica has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against St. Paul on the 3rd. St. Anthony has also already played their next contest (against St. Genevieve), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
