Basketball Game Preview: Jefferson Davis Academy Raiders vs. Marlboro Academy Dragons

The Jefferson Davis Academy Raiders will square off against the Marlboro Academy Dragons on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, Jefferson Davis Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 63-57 to Curtis Baptist.

The match pitted two dominant forwards against one another in Nasir Void and Wiltrez (Trez) Mincey. Mincey had a great game and dropped a double-double with 16 points and 17 boards. Meanwhile, Void did his best for the losing side, dropping a double-double with 11 points and ten rebounds.

Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Marlboro Academy had no trouble coming through when it counted. They were the clear victor by a 55-33 margin over Cambridge Academy on Saturday.

Jefferson Davis Academy's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points over those games. As for Marlboro Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-8 record this season.
