Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hanover). They took their matchup at home on Saturday with ease, bagging an 82-19 win over the Walsh Eagles. With the Hornets ahead 50-19 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Hanover's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Junior Diaz led the charge by rushing for 113 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Diaz didn't just play on offense: he also made six total tackles and defended a pass in addition to snagging two interceptions both of which were returned for touchdowns. JJ Aguilar was in the mix too, providing Hanover with a touchdown.

Hanover didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Diaz and Tyler Decker. Decker also set a new season high mark in passing touchdowns with four.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Hanover was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 241 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Walsh only rushed for 64.

Hanover pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Walsh, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hanover will head out to take on Cheyenne Wells at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Cheyenne Wells will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Hanover surely won't give up without a fight. As for Walsh, they are taking a road trip to challenge Cheraw at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cheraw is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 45.7 points per game this season.
