Mumford has gone 10-0 against Iola recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Mumford Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Iola Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Mumford is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Hearne just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell to the Eagles 57-52. While the Mustangs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 15-3 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Iola was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 62-34 loss at the hands of Bremond. The matchup marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Mumford's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 17-9. As for Iola, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.

Everything went Mumford's way against Iola in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as Mumford made off with a 62-40 win. Will Mumford repeat their success, or does Iola have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
