Basketball Recap: Hempstead Comes Up Short

Hempstead was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Iowa City Little Hawks 86-54. The Mustangs lost against the Little Hawks in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 54-48 score last time.

Hempstead's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Iowa City, their win bumped their record up to 7-23.

Hempstead wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 72-65 defeat against Waterloo West on the 11th. As for Iowa City, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 67-64 victory against Jefferson on the 11th.
