Softball Game Preview: Phillipsburg Stateliners vs. Bernards Mountaineers

For the second straight game, Phillipsburg will face off against Bernards. The Stateliners will challenge the Mountaineers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Phillipsburg got the win against Bernards by a conclusive 13-7. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Stateliners' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

For Bernards' part, Brooke Helpinstill was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Olivia O'Leary, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

The win got Phillipsburg back to even at 6-6. As for Bernards, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-10.
