Baseball Recap: Perkins Pirates vs. Upper Sandusky Rams

It's playoff time, and Perkins had no trouble coming through when it counted. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-8 victory over the Upper Sandusky Rams on Wednesday. The win was nothing new for the Pirates as they're now sitting on four straight.

Kash Koch and Braxden Martin made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Koch tossed six innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. Meanwhile, Martin tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. At bat, Koch went 4-for-5 with three runs and one double, while Martin got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave Koch a new career-high.

In other batting news, Blake Parker was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Quentin Binette, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double.

Perkins kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Upper Sandusky only managed nine hits.

Perkins' victory bumped their record up to 21-9. As for Upper Sandusky, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-5.

As of now, neither Perkins nor the Rams have any future games scheduled.
