Baseball Recap: Akron Comes Up Short

If Akron was riding high fresh off their 11-4 takedown of Limon on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rams fell just short of the Highland Huskies by a score of 5-4 on Friday.

Akron saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kolten Randel, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Randel has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Akron's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-4. As for Highland, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4-1 record this season.

Akron does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Highland, they will head out on the road to take on Wiggins at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
