The Atascadero Greyhounds will head out to face off against the Templeton Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Atascadero played in-conference for the first time on Tuesday and got just the result they were looking for. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over Orcutt Academy.

Devyn Dutra was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one triple. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Samantha Bedell was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, Templeton hadn't done well against Paso Robles recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Bearcats with a sharp 17-6 win. Considering the Eagles have won four games by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Templeton also got a great performance from Tegan Jay as she pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits. Those hits marked the first that Jay allowed this season.
At the plate, Jessie Branch was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Whitney Moore, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Templeton lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Templeton has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Atascadero, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-8.
Templeton's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Atascadero has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.3 hits per game. It's a different story for Templeton, though, as they've been averaging 9 hits. Given Atascadero's sizable advantage in that area, the Eagles will need to find a way to close that gap.
Atascadero suffered a grim 18-2 defeat to Templeton when the teams last played back in March. Can the Greyhounds avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
