Football Recap: CJ Valentine Leads Holy Cross' Defense on Friday

Holy Cross won the last time they faced Wildwood, and Christian Shio did his part to make sure it happened again. The Lancers took down the Warriors 25-6 on Friday thanks in part to Shio, who rushed for 153 yards and two TDs. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making four total tackles and defending one pass.

One reason for the win was Holy Cross' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. In that department, CJ Valentine was the leader with two.

Holy Cross' victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Wildwood, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holy Cross will challenge Palmyra at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wildwood, they will face off against Gateway Regional at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
