Volleyball Game Preview: Elkhorn North Wolves vs. Skutt Catholic SkyHawks

Elkhorn North is 0-5 against Skutt Catholic since October of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Wolves will challenge the SkyHawks at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a nine-game winning streak alive.

Elkhorn North is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Bennington as they made off with a 3-0 win.

Elkhorn North found their leader in sophomore Reese Wallraff, who had 20 digs and two aces. Those 20 digs set a new season-high mark for Wallraff.

Meanwhile, Skutt Catholic faced Lakeview in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The SkyHawks were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Vikings.

Skutt Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 29-10. As for Elkhorn North, their win bumped their record up to 29-6.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's matchup: Elkhorn North has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7 aces per game. However, it's not like Skutt Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.1 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
