Soccer Game Preview: Franklin Towne vs. William Tennent

The Franklin Towne Warriors are taking a road trip to face off against the William Tennent Panthers at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Franklin Towne had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the three-goal drubbing they dealt Science Leadership Academy on Wednesday. The Warriors never let the Rockets get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. Franklin Towne haven't had any issues with Science Leadership Academy recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask William Tennent). Everything went their way against Upper Moreland on Tuesday as they made off with a 6-1 victory. Given William Tennent's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while Upper Moreland are ranked 291st) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win got Franklin Towne back to even at 7-7. As for William Tennent, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3-1.

Franklin Towne might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from William Tennent in their previous meeting back in October of 2019. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
