Softball Recap: Henry Clay Comes Up Short

If Henry Clay was riding high fresh off their 10-1 takedown of Bourbon County last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Blue Devils came up short against the Bryan Station Defenders on Tuesday, falling 11-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blue Devils of the 11-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Henry Clay's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Bryan Station, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Henry Clay will challenge Frederick Douglass at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Broncos will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Blue Devils surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bryan Station, they will be playing at home against Ballard at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Defenders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bruins have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season.
