The Lincoln Lions will square off against the Central Crossing Comets at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Central Crossing took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Lincoln, who comes in off a win.
Having struggled with ten losses in a row, Lincoln turned things around against Grove City on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Greyhounds. The Lions not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 7th (when they won 16-0).
Not much got past Aidan Piatt, who gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Grove City off the board.

On the hitting side, Anthony Pernotto was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Lincoln's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-10 when he doesn't). Desmond Higgins also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Lincoln was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April.
Meanwhile, Central Crossing was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 11-1 to Grove City.
Central Crossing saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jake Taylor, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Lincoln's win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Central Crossing, their loss dropped their record down to 3-17.
Central Crossing's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lincoln has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .440. It's a different story for Central Crossing, though, as they've only averaged .316. Will they be able to contain Lincoln's hitters?
Lincoln beat Central Crossing 6-2 in their previous matchup back in April. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Comets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
