Baseball Game Preview: Westfield Mustangs vs. Aldine Mustangs

For the second straight game, Westfield will face off against Aldine. We've got a battle between Mustangs coming up. Westfield has now lost 11 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 3.

Westfield lost 13-2 to Aldine on Tuesday.

For Aldine's part, Raul Careaga and Alberto Gonzalez did most of the damage at the plate: Careaga scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Gonzalez scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. What's more, Careaga posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Orlando Reyes, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Aldine always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westfield only posted an OBP of .348.

Aldine's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for Westfield, their loss dropped their record down to 2-15.
