Baseball Game Preview: Steele Canyon Cougars vs. West Hills Wolf Pack

For the second straight game, Steele Canyon will face off against West Hills. The Cougars are taking a road trip to take on the Wolf Pack at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Steele Canyon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Steele Canyon took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over West Hills. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Wolf Pack recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Dylan Granados looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and not a single walk). He has become a key player for Steele Canyon: the team is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 9-13 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Steele Canyon let Madden McBride-Rodriguez and Eli Arens run wild. McBride-Rodriguez went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Arens went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That home run was Arens' first of the season. Isaiah Hyche was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Steele Canyon's win bumped their record up to 13-14. As for West Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-15.
