Volleyball Recap: Mercy Wins High-Profile Match Against Marian + How To Watch

Mercy faced Marian in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Marlins came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 3-1. The Marlins haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Mercy was actually outscored in aggregate across those four sets (94-91), but they still managed to win. The match finished with set scores of 14-25, 25-22, 25-22, 27-25.

Kate Kalczynski paced Mercy's offense, picking up 18 kills. Kalczynski got some help from Kaelyn Easton and her 39 assists. Kate Berghoff controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Mercy's win bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Marian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 23-2.

Mercy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Rockford on the 20th. As for Marian, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Notre Dame Academy on the 24th.
