Basketball Recap: Dayana Mulamba's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hillcrest over Tooele

Hillcrest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 54-33 to the Tooele Buffaloes. If the Huskies were looking for revenge after losing 54-26 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Several Huskies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dayana Mulamba, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Josie Haddock, who posted eight points.

Tooele's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Camila Lora led the charge by putting up 11 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. Lora is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played. Kennedy Searle was another key player, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.

Hillcrest's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Tooele, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-5.

Hillcrest will challenge Murray at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Tooele, they will take on Stansbury at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
