Softball Game Preview: Millry Wildcats vs. Jackson Aggies

The Millry Wildcats will be taking part in a tournament against the Jackson Aggies at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Millry will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

Millry is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past University Charter 14-3 on Tuesday.

Lilly Doggette made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Hayden Beasley was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Makon Pitts, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Millry was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Jackson lost 13-7 to St. Paul's Episcopal on Thursday. The loss was the Aggies' first of the season.

Millry's record now sits at 4-0-1. As for Jackson, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
