Baseball Recap: Marion Comes Up Short

Marion came into this matchup off a tough ten-run defeat on Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Dyer County Choctaws by a score of 3-1 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Patriots have suffered since April 23, 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Marion and nudges their season record down to 11-7. As for Dyer County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-9-1.

Coming up, Marion will welcome Covington at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Dyer County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
