Basketball Recap: Attica Comes Up Short

Attica played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 67-41 to the Fountain Central Mustangs. The Red Ramblers were down 47-27 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the defeat, Attica saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Caiden Ashley went 6-for-11 en route to 18 points. Another player making a difference was Ronnie Matthews, who posted five points and six assists.

Ayden Batchlor had an outrageously good game for Fountain Central as he went 7-for-12 from beyond the arc to rack up 21 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Batchlor a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Foxworthy, who scored ten points.

This is the second loss in a row for Attica and nudges their season record down to 3-12. As for Fountain Central, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-13.

Attica wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 64-53 loss against South Vermillion on the 14th. As for Fountain Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 78-27 defeat against Parke Heritage on the 14th.
