 Rancho Cotate was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight  loss. They fell  7-3 to the Petaluma Trojans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Rancho Cotate of the  8-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in April of 2021.
 Rancho Cotate got a big performance out of  Jaren Brown, who  went 2-for-3 with a  double and  an  RBI.
 On Petaluma's side,  Arlo Pendleton was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he  tossed five innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   seven  hits (he also didn't allow any  walks). Pendleton was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with a  home run, three  additional RBI,  and a  double.
 In other pitching news,  Sam Schnitzer looked comfortable as he  pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit (he also didn't allow any  walks). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than two  hits in four consecutive pitching appearances.
 Pendleton wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Dante Caiati, who  went 1-for-2 with  an  RBI.
 Rancho Cotate's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Petaluma, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record  this season.
 Rancho Cotate will head out on the road to  take on  Napa at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. Napa is coming into the  game with four straight  victories at home,  so Rancho Cotate will have to stop a  team with plenty of momentum. Petaluma will take on Windsor at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday. Petaluma's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9  runs per game  this season, so Windsor's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
