Softball Recap: Montoursville Beats Warrior Run for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Montoursville had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Warrior Run Defenders, sneaking past 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted against the Defenders since April 6, 2016.

Montoursville pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Warrior Run, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.

Coincidentally, Montoursville and Warrior Run will both be playing Loyalsock Township the next time they take the field. The Defenders will head out to face the Lancers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, while the Warriors will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
