Recap: Martin County Tigers vs. Central Cobras
The Martin County Tigers''s game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They took down Central 41-27. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Martin County's three-point performance the matchup before.
Martin County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tony Colebrook, who rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries. Another player making a difference was Jackson Williams, who rushed for 91 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries.
Several Cobras players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Anthony Lamattina, who threw for 267 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 68 receiving yards. Lamattina was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 68 yards. Chandler Perceval was another key contributor, picking up 136 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Martin County now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Central, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Martin County will be playing at home against Jensen Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Jensen Beach is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games. As for Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Sebring at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Sebring presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Central in Florida (Sebring is ranked 67th, while Central is ranked 230th).
