Baseball Game Preview: Kemper Academy Rams vs. Newton County Academy Generals

Kemper Academy is 1-6 against Newton County Academy since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Rams will square off against the Generals at 2:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Kemper Academy came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 14-0 to Noxapater. The loss put an end to the Rams' undefeated start to the season.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Newton County Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Lamar Christian by a score of 6-5.

Bryce Jones was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Kemper Academy fell to 2-1. As for Newton County Academy, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Kemper Academy suffered a grim 15-4 defeat to Newton County Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
