Softball Recap: West Park Gets the Win

West Park lost to Bella Vista back in March of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The West Park Panthers walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Bella Vista Broncos.

Jessica Cochran spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jolene White, who scored a run while going 4-for-4. What's more, she posted four hits, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Isabella Huston, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

West Park was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bella Vista only posted a batting average of .192.

The win got West Park back to even at 1-1. As for Bella Vista, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Looking ahead, West Park will head out on the road to take on Monterey Trail at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bella Vista, they will be playing at home against Yuba City at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
